Calling all NorCal surfers, free-divers, open water sports enthusiasts, and beach-goers! We’re excited to invite you to Right of Wave: Ocean Safety and Surf Awareness Day on Sunday, September 22nd at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica. This free event will be a full day of workshops and activities designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills to safely navigate the ocean, improve your water sports abilities, and connect with the local community.

Surfrider San Francisco and San Mateo chapters are proud to support this event, as it aligns with our mission of protecting and enjoying the ocean, waves, and beaches for all. Our powerful activist network is committed to educating and inspiring individuals to safeguard the world’s coastal environments while ensuring everyone can experience the beauty of our seas responsibly.

Why This Matters:

At the heart of this event is our shared commitment to ocean safety and conservation, values that are central to Surfrider San Francisco. By equipping beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts with critical safety knowledge, we are building a community of informed and responsible ocean lovers. When more people understand the ocean’s power, its fragility, and the significance of protecting it, the more we can collectively ensure its health for future generations.

Surfrider San Francisco works tirelessly to promote these values through initiatives like coastal cleanups, education on ocean-friendly practices, and advocacy for sustainable beach management. Events like Right of Wave offer a great platform to extend this mission and engage directly with attendees while also spreading awareness about the crucial role we all play in protecting our coastlines.
