Beach Cleanups

San Francisco Surfrider hosts multiple beach cleanups each month at Ocean Beach and Baker Beach. Volunteers are our greatest asset. And all you have to do is show up!

Attend a cleanup

We provide gloves, buckets, and grabbers at all of our cleanups. Contact to learn more, or just come by – no advance registration required.

Host a cleanup

Volunteering to host a cleanup is an easy and great way to have a direct positive impact on our local environment. To learn more contact our Volunteer Coordinator.

Large groups? No problem!
Please just let us know ahead of time so we can be sure to have enough supplies present on the day.

Host your own cleanup every time you hit the beach. Just bring a bag to dispose of any trash you see. The ocean thanks you!

San Francisco Surfrider’s Beach Cleanup Program is one of the most successful of its kind. Our success is due largely to the incredible volunteers who make caring for our San Francisco beaches a priority. As a recipient of the Surfrider Foundation’s distinguished “Clean Beach Award,” our program has set the standard for other Surfrider chapters around the country, and increasingly, the world.
